Your Copperduino board includes the CopperLan license cost.
It is presenting the Copperduino identity as its Brand on the CopperLan network.

To commercialize a design based on the Copperduino schematics you will need to register in order to obtain your own manufacturer ID and receive the appropriate firmware to flash in your CopperLan-Ethernet chips.

Q & A

Can I resell a product embedding a Copperduino board?

Yes. However, unless you ask for your own manufacturer ID, your product will appear on the network as a generic Copperduino dev board.

Can I freely change the manufacturer ID of my Copperduino?

No, you should register in order receive a manufacturer ID from us.

Can I copy the Copperduino schematics?

Yes, you can copy or derive the schematics into another design. If however you want to commercialize it you need to register (see above)

The Copperduino board is a development board serving the CopperLan community. Its cost includes its license. The licensed CopperLan firmware is included in the microcontroller in charge of handling CopperLan.

The schematics of the Copperduino are a reference design, free to be copied into commercial and non-commercial designs. However, all derivative designs using CopperLan are subject to a commercial license fee.
